About Us
Our Background
We live in the beautiful West Sussex countryside, just south of Horsham, ideally placed to walk and ride on the Downs Link, in the local woods or to explore the local area. We currently have three horses, our Lagotto Romagnolo Alfie and ZigZag and Dylan the cat. Between us we have over 50 years experience looking after horses and dogs!

Birchwood Horses and Dogs was started as a means to give horses and dogs the holiday they deserve while you go on your holiday - treat them to a break while you enjoy yours.

Dog Boarding
Give your Dog the holiday they deserve
The complete country club for dogs!
Your dog will join our family for their stay- sleeping in the house at night playing with our dog and other dog visitors (and teenagers) in the day and enjoying long walks through the woods and country around us. We are lucky enough to be able to walk without going near roads and have off lead walks for those with good recall and 2.5 acre fenced area for those who aren't so keen to come back!

Maximum eight dogs stay at one time.
Local pick up can be arranged, please ask for details.
Dog Washing,Grooming, Clipping
Available as an extra on request
We are able to offer a full wash and groom before you pick your dog up so they are looking their best for you.

We also clip and trim hairy dogs; we find our own dog is much happier kept with a shorter coat and it is much easier to wash off the mud!

Horse Show Boarding - from £25 per night
20 minutes from Hickstead
A very relaxed setting to give you and your horse the perfect night before the big event. We are 20 minutes from Hickstead and Pyecombe as well as other great venues nearby. Stables available and hoses for washing before the big day! Camping or hook-up can be available for you, please ask for details.
Horse Holiday Boarding - from £15 per night
Treat your Horse or Pony to a holiday while you're away
We can tailor your horses's stay according to your needs - three dedicated visitor paddocks are poo picked daily, each has natural shelter around it one has a field shelter. We also offer stables and day/ night bringing in as needed. Minor injuries and treatments can be accommodated, please contact us to discuss further.
